More than forty Ukrainian militants surrendered to the LPR People’s Militia during the liberation of the towns of Gorskoye and Zolotoye from the Ukrainian punitive forces, the LPR People’s Militia press service said at a press conference in Lugansk on June 24, the Lugansk Information Center (LIC) reported.

The press service said that the surrendered servicemen of the Ukrainian army were able to contact their relatives and inform them of their condition.

The prisoners informed their relatives and friends that they were in captivity, that they were alive, and that they had met with good treatment from the Lugansk military.

“I’m alive, healthy, don’t worry, everything is good – I’m in captivity. I’m treated well. There are normal people here. How long I will be here, I do not know,” the prisoner of war Yaroslav Sakalosh said to his wife, offering his wife to come personally to Lugansk to meet him.

Earlier it was reported that the flags of the Russian Federation and the LPR, as well as the Victory Banner, were raised over the administration of the town of Gorskoye.
