The Russian army deliberately refrained from opening fire on Ukrainian troops retreating from the city of Svyatogorsk, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on its Telegram channel on June 6.

According to the report, the Russian army is about to complete the liberation of the city of Svyatogorsk and the adjacent areas. To prevent the retreat of the Ukrainian army, the Ukrainian Nazis, operating as barrier squads, destroyed a bridge across the Seversky Donets River.

As a result, having been cut off their main force and supplies, units of the battalions of the 95th assault airborne brigade and the 81st independent air mobile brigade of the Ukrainian army left their equipment and weapons, and they scattered along the bank.

“Up to 80 Ukrainian military servicemen managed to swim across the river. The Russian military servicemen deliberately refrained from opening fire on them,” the Defense Ministry’s report says.
