Russian deputy ambassador to the UN: Nazis at Azovstal surrendered unconditionally

17.05.2022, New York.

The New York Times failed to write directly that the Ukrainian Nazis blocked near Azovstal surrendered unconditionally, First Deputy Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky wrote on his Twitter page on May 17.

Commenting on the New York Times article, Polyansky pointed out that the publication called what had happened the end of Ukraine’s “combat mission” in Mariupol. At the same time, the journalists denoted the surrender as evacuation.

“I didn’t know English has so many ways to express a single message: the Azovnazis [organization whose activities are banned in Russia] have unconditionally surrendered,” Polansky wrote.

Earlier the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that over the past 24 hours 256 Ukrainian fighters blocked at Azovstal have laid down their weapons. It is noted that the seriously wounded fighters were sent to the DPR for medical treatment.
