Ukrainian nationalists tried to block the procession of the Immortal Regiment in Vienna, and the police called for reinforcements, a Rossa Primavera News Agency correspondent reported on May 9.

The celebrations of Victory Day in Vienna, which began on Stephansplatz with a literary-musical program with the participation of public organizations and cultural figures from Russia, Austria, Serbia, Bulgaria and Cuba, continued with the procession of the Immortal Regiment. About 500 people took part in the event.

From the very beginning of the rally there were provocations by pro-Ukrainian groups of people, who tried to muffle the speakers by shouting. In order to pacify the noisy citizens wearing Ukrainian flags, the Viennese police had to call in reinforcements.
