Political scientist: Great Patriotic War is not over

07.05.2022, Minsk.

The Great Patriotic War is not over, because after the USSR’s victory over Nazi Germany the West switched to hidden ways of warfare, analyst of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research (Russian: BISI) Aleksey Avdonin said on May 7 on the Belarus 1 channel.

“The Great Patriotic War and World War Two did not end on May 9 and September 2. Over this entire period we have been at war, with the difference that until recently the NATO countries, the collective West waged a hidden war against the Soviet Union, against us. In 1990s, they tranquilized us trying to use various models of soft influence: through non-governmental organizations, through velvet revolutions,” Avdonin said.

The political scientist noted that now the collective West has thrown off its mask, and now it begins to dismantle the memorials to Soviet soldiers on its territory in order to destroy everything that reminds about the victory over fascism. After this, another stage will follow, when Russia, China, and the whole world will be thrown into a war again, with which the West hopes to resolve its financial and economic problems, and analyst of BISI believes.

On February 24, Russia began a military special operation in Donbass, and it began the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. To prevent continued attacks against the people of Donbass by the Kiev regime, the Russian army has used precision weapons against the military infrastructure, destroying military storage facilities, airbases, and control centers in Ukraine.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin stressed in his video address that the Russian army did not attack civilian facilities. The Russian leader urged the Ukrainian soldiers to lay down their arms and go home. Putin stressed that Russia did not plan to occupy the Ukrainian territory.

After the beginning of the special operation, the West imposed unprecedented sanctions on Russia.
