The Kremlin commented on calls to expel Russia from the G20

The G20 format is important for Russia and Russia is not going to give it up, but if it is excluded, nothing serious will happen. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists on March 25.

“As for the G20 format, it is important, but on the other hand, in the current conditions, when most of the participants of this format are actually with us at their initiative in a state of economic war, well, nothing fatal will happen,” Peskov said.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden proposed to replace Russia in the G20 format with Ukraine. The Kremlin reported that the US is exercising blatant pressure on countries to exclude Russia from the G20, although a number of countries have maintained an independent view.

For example, the foreign minister of Brazil said in the Senate that the G20 needed Russia to be present in order for it to function properly. Earlier, China stated that the G20 format does not provide for the possibility of excluding any of its members.
