Western countries have been working using the same censorship manual for many years, said Rosa Miriam Elizalde, first vice president of the Union of Cuban Journalists, on March 16, as reported by RIA Novosti.
She said that the collective decision of the Permanent Representatives of the European Union to ban Russian media outlets Sputnik and RT and their subsidiaries from broadcasting on EU territory is shameless.
But there is nothing new in this, Elisalde added, which is why Cuban journalists are not surprised by such actions of Western countries. After all, they have already experienced all this on themselves, explained the first vice president of the Union of Cuban Journalists.
She stressed that in this case, the European Union is using “the same recipe, the same textbook of censorship” that Western countries have previously used against Cuba and other “governments of the region that have challenged the power of Washington.”
That is, the methods and techniques have long been practiced, Elizalde explained. They are “shutting down websites, blocking search engines, silencing certain points of view, trying to impose thinking of only one side,” she concluded.
