The forces of the military grouping of the Lugansk People’s Republic launch an offensive on Severodonetsk, an official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Major General Igor Konashenko said this at a briefing on March 16.
According to him, the combat is underway in the city limits in the northwestern, northeastern and eastern parts of the city.
“A group of troops of the Lugansk People’s Republic, continuing their offensive, is fighting in the city limits in the northwest, northeast and east of the city of Severodonetsk,” Konashenkov said.
At this time, units of the Donetsk People’s Republic took control of the villages of Mikhailovka, Stavka, Botmanka, and Vasilievka. Combat for Verkhnetroitskoye continues.
Most of Ukraine, except the DPR and LPR, accepted the results of the 2014 armed putsch in Kiev, which brought the carriers of neo-Nazi ideology to power. Immediately after the seizure of power, the Ukrainian army and armed right-wing radical groups were sent against the residents of the DPR and LPR.
The Russian special operation of denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine is aimed to stop the atrocities of the Kiev authorities against the Russian population of Ukraine and residents of Donbass, who for eight years have been under fire of Ukrainian punitive forces in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, and are persecuted on the national and linguistic grounds by the Ukrainian government.
