Russian Defense Ministry explains the purpose of the failed provocation by the Ukrainian army at the Zaporozhzhye NPP

The purpose of the Kiev regime’s provocation at the Zaporozhzhye nuclear power plant is an attempt to blame Russia for an environmental disaster, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on March 4, RIA Novosti reported.

“The aim of the Kiev regime’s provocation at the nuclear facility is an attempt to accuse Russia of creating a hotbed of radioactive contamination,” he said.

The Defense Ministry spokesman pointed out that such actions could indicate a criminal plot by the Kiev regime or Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s loss of control over the actions of Ukrainian saboteurs involving foreign mercenaries.

Konoshenkov said that on Friday night, a mobile National Guard of Russia patrol was attacked with small arms in the area adjacent to the Zaporozhzhye nuclear power plant.

After returning fire at the location of the Ukrainian sabotage group, it set fire to the building of a training complex located outside the nuclear power plant.
