Heads of the DPR and LPR ask Putin for help in repelling Kiev's aggression

The heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Denis Pushylin and Leonid Pasechnik, asked Russian President Vladimir Putin for assistance in repelling the aggression from Ukraine. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on February 23.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Putin received two letters of appeal from the leaders of the DPR and LPR, in which they personally and on behalf of the people thanked the president for recognizing the republics of Donbass.

“The heads of the two republics in connection with the current situation and in order to prevent casualties among civilians and a humanitarian catastrophe on the basis of Articles 3 and 4 of the treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Russian Federation and the republics ask the Russian president to assist in repelling the aggression of Ukrainian armed forces and formations,” Peskov said.
