Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s actions are aimed at inciting a big war in the center of Europe, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin wrote on February 19 on his Telegram channel.
According to him, Zelensky would never have made such a decision independently, without solid and persistent “support” from the outside.
Volodin noted that the United States organized an information provocation by creating a threat of “the Russian invasion to Ukraine”, which it itself invented. This allowed the US to “authorize an attack [of Ukraine] against the peaceful citizens of the DPR and LPR”, whilealready quite real “shelling of civilians, the threat of the beginning of full-scale hostilities have led to the evacuation of Donbass inhabitants,” explained the Chairman.
At the same time, “Washington perfectly understands what tragedy can all this provoke,” therefore US President Joe Biden called for the evacuation of American diplomats from Kiev, wrote Volodin.
He wondered whether Europe grasps that if the war starts, “the Europe itself will become a battleground.” The Chairman of the State Duma called on European countries’ deputies, whose “leaders are silent”, to ask their voters do they want war or not.
And if “suddenly” it turns out that they do not want this, then what European deputies are now doing in order to prevent such war, asks Volodin.
He stressed that Russia does not exactly want war, but “if the threat to the lives of the citizens of the Russian Federation and compatriots living in the DPR and LPR arises, our country will stand for their defense.”
