The shelling of the territories of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) continues, the LPR representative to the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) stated on February 17.
It became known about the shelling of Rayovka, Sokolniki and Donetskiy villages in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The enemy used 120mm mortars and rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
In the DPR, Mandrykino village and Gorlovka were shelled. The enemy fired 37 82mm mortar.
“Over the past 24 hours, the situation at the contact line of significantly escalated. The enemy at the direct instruction of the Kiev’s military and political leadership makes attempts to escalate the conflict,” said the head of the LPR People’s Militia Yan Leshchenko.
Since 5.30 a.m. (Moscow time), the shelling of villages on the territory of the LPR and DPR with the use of mortars and grenade launchers is being carried out. Units of the DPR and LPR had to retaliate. No casualties have been reported so far.
