The USA is preparing to foment protest sentiments in Syria, the press service of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service reported on February 8.
According to the agency, the intelligence service has received information that the US authorities intend to maintain their presence in Syria by destabilizing the situation in the country.
“The information received by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service indicates the US administration’s desire to maintain the US presence on the territory of Syria without allowing the situation in that country to stabilize,” the report of the intelligence service reads.
The agency stressed that the USA is going to launch an information campaign in Arabic-language social networks to foment protest sentiments.
