Two advisors from the USA began full-time work in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry

12.01.2022, Kiev.

Two US advisers began working on a permanent basis at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the press service of the Defense Policy Directorate of the ministry wrote on its Facebook page on January 12.

“On January 11, 2022 the Directorate of Defense Policy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine began working on a regular basis as advisers from the United States Chris Rizzo and Todd Brown,” the statement reads.

Advisory and advisory assistance in the implementation of defense reform measures on defense policy and Euro-Atlantic integration are listed as the main responsibilities.

Coup d’etat in Kiev in 2014 led to a sharp turn in Ukrainian policy toward integration with the West. The Ukrainian constitution was amended accordingly, which enshrined the country’s course toward EU and NATO membership. A number of experts believe that this process may take more than two decades.
