The most effective way to prevent provocation in eastern Ukraine is to disclose information about it, expert of the Association of Military Political Scientists and head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Plekhanov Russian Economic University Andrey Koshkin said in his commentary for Rossa Primavera News Agency.
Commenting on the statement made by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu about the prepared provocations in eastern Ukraine, the expert said, “We made this secret information public for the whole world. This technology of disclosing classified information has been very successful in preventing such incidents.”
In addition, as the political scientist pointed out, the information made public will increase the vigilance of the security services of the unrecognized republics, “all units of the People’s Militia and the police [of Lugansk and Donetsk People’s republics] have received information that should make them vigilant.”
Taking into account that the delivery of chemical substances can be carried out in different ways, with the help of drones, artillery or reconnaissance and sabotage groups, but how exactly is not known, first of all “we inform. We give the opportunity to prepare and <…> ensure the neutralization of this threat.” Secondly, Russia might provide military and technical assistance, if necessary, the expert noted, noting also that such provocations might be aimed at aggravation of the situation in the conflict zone.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said that more than 120 employees of US private military companies were working in Avdeevka and Priazovskoye towns. They are setting up firing positions in residential buildings and socially significant facilities, and are training Ukrainian special operations forces and radical armed groups for active combat operations.
The head of the Russian Defense Ministry also reported that tanks with unspecified chemical substances had been delivered to Avdeevka and Krasny Liman to carry out provocations.
