“A struggle between political heavyweights is underway” — Kurginyan comments actions by State Duma Chairman

The fact that State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin opened commenting of his post on QR codes bills suggests that a sanctioned struggle between political heavyweights is taking place, according to the article by philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan “You Can’t Fight Fire with Kerosene” published on December 4 in the Essence of Time newspaper.

Kurginyan reminded that Volodin expressed solidarity with “the letter of 11 doctors,” although he suggested that the Russian citizens should express their position on the QR codes bills.

A surge of comments marked Volodin’s victory triggering a response from his opponents who said that the comments were generated by bots. However, these Volodin’s opponents “were immediately shamed as live people showed vivid reaction saying they were not bots,” Kurginyan stressed.

Meanwhile, Volodin is “a very cautious politician, and he is totally loyal to Putin.” “I cannot believe that Volodin could afford political improvisation,” the political scientist believes. “Therefore, a clearly or tacitly sanctioned struggle between political heavyweights is taking place.”

However, Kurginyan believes that this political struggle was in any event sanctioned. “This is a different kind of a country, a different kind of an elite, a different kind of a system,” the political scientist stressed.

On November 24, the State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin published a post on his Telegram channel saying that he supported, in general, the position of the doctors who invited opponents of forced vaccination to the COVID departments of their hospitals, and he encouraged citizens to express their opinions in comments regarding the high-profile QR codes bills. In less than 24 hours, more than 307 thousand comments were received, and the number of Volodin’s subscribers increased from 40 thousand to over 115 thousand.

In his article “Fire cannot be extinguished with fuel” political scientist Sergey Kurginyan also noted that the letter tied together very different opponents of forced vaccination, “who never sought such an association.”

In particular, the list of the addressees included State Duma Vice-Speaker, member of the United Russia party Pyotr Tolstoy. “We say ‘Pyotr Tolstoy’ and we mean whom? Whom of the major figures the real authors of ‘the letter of the eleven’ hate so much?” Kurginyan wonders.
