Putin describes possible "red lines" in relations with Ukraine

30.11.2021, Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that the situation in Ukraine would not cause “red lines” to appear during the Russia Calling Investment Forum on November 30.

Putin posed a question about Russia’s attitude as a state toward such likely developments as the deployment in Ukraine of strike systems with an approach time of 7 to 10 minutes to Moscow and hypersonic weapons with an approach time as short as 5 minutes. “What are we supposed to do?” the president posed a question.

The leader of the state went on to explain that in this case, Russia would have to create symmetrical threats. He mentioned Russian sea-based hypersonic missiles capable of reaching speeds of almost 11000 km/h. Such weapons will also have a flight time of up to 5 minutes.

Creating such threats for Russia is the “red lines,” the president stressed. “I hope that it will not come to this,” he added and expressed hope that common sense and responsibility will prevail.
