The US Navy is studying a possible theater of military operations in the Black Sea, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry informed on November 9.
The report reads that the exercises are planned, in which, in addition to US ships, tactical, strategic, and patrol aviation and contingents of the armed forces of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine will also be involved.
“There is a study of the expected theater of military operations in case Kiev prepares a forceful solution in the southeast [of Ukraine],” the press service of the Defense Ministry stressed.
The agency noted that the Black Sea Fleet controls the actions of US Navy ships in the waters of the Black Sea. Now the US destroyer Porter and the Mount Whitney command ship are stationed in the Georgian port of Batumi, while the John Lenthall tanker is in the southwestern part of the Black Sea.
“The Russian Armed Forces are continuously observing and monitoring the situation,” the report stresses.
