The West puts forth new conditions of capitulation to Russia. Opinion

The West is pursuing its goal: it puts forth conditions of capitulation in a new Cold War to Russia, a Rossa Primavera News Agency editorial published on November 1 reads.

Earlier, the United States demanded a full report from Russia on the Novichok poisoning of blogger Alexei Navalny. The statement was made by US Special Representative for Nuclear Nonproliferation Jeffrey Eberhardt stated this at a meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly.

Eberhardt said that Russia showed a lack of any meaningful cooperation with the OPCW. In his opinion, Russia has refused to be transparent about the Navalny incident.

The West is pursuing its goal: it puts forth conditions of capitulation in a new Cold War to Russia. Among other claims is the admission of guilt in the Navalny case.

The parameters of this capitulation are also clear. Russia must do [capitulate] so in the absence of any evidence from the West. It doesn’t matter whether there was an incident or not.

From this point of view, if there was no incident, it is even better for the West. If the Russian government admits its guilt, in this case, it is likely that the West will retroactively declare that Navalny was not poisoned with Novichok, but that he was simply poisoned by something on the plane.

Earlier, through the OPCW, the United States and 44 other countries asked Russia a series of questions about the Navalny incident. Russia responded by demanding the OPCW Technical Secretariat to hand over a note verbale and attached documents to the Permanent Representations of Great Britain, Germany, France, and Sweden to the OPCW.

The Russian Foreign Ministry gave an assessment of this incident with Navalny, which occurred on August 20, 2020. According to this assessment, the Navalny incident is a planned provocation aimed at discrediting Russia. The West is spinning this case in order to deter Russia and attack it again. The West has not provided any verifiable evidence to accuse Russia of poisoning Navalny with Novichok.
