Kurginyan: Ukraine attempts to blackmail the US in vain

Ukraine has begun to blackmail the US, and Washington does not like that very much, said political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on August 5 on the Tema program on the Donetsk Union TV channel.

“The US loves brown-nosing. They like when others obey them passionately, completely, even to the detriment of themselves. They really do not like it when others start to blackmail, maneuver, and such,” said Kurginyan.

As an example, the political scientist used the UK, which plays the role of the US’ most faithful satellite and shows excessive loyalty. As a reward, the UK can acquire certain preferences and try to act according to the principle of “the tail that wags the dog,” noted the expert.

While in London, they will declare about their determination to do anything for the sake of the US: whether it’s to “tear itself into pieces” or to ”burn itself alive,” added the expert.

In like one of Anton Chekhov’s short stories, he recalls the heroine who threatens to leave one “guardian” to another. Similarly to its character, Ukraine has started to blackmail the US, its closest partner and its patron, that it leaves for China.

“The Ukrainian lads decided that they would play a game called ‘blackmail’ or whatever … Here is how Chekhov described similar situation in his brilliant early short story ‘Walking in Sokolniki’. “I get nothing but reproaches for one ruble a month. I feed you, I support you. That’s not what I need. Tomorrow I am leaving for Pavel Ivanovich.”

”So, they decided that if they tell the US that they will go for “Pavel Ivanovich” tomorrow, it will terribly frighten the US, and they will immediately start giving out some preferences; that you can play this blackmail game. The US hates it. No one, neither the Republicans, nor the Democrats, will tolerate it when they are played this way, “ emphasized Kurginyan.

Viktor Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian President, and the former Ukrainian Prime Minister Azarov caused the 2014 Ukrainian Maidan upraising by bringing Ukraine and China closer together, recalled the expert.

“Yanukovych and Azarov wanted to get a huge sum of money from China for Ukraine. A huge amount of money. I’m even afraid to say how much. Colossal! Not billions, not tens of billions. Much more. For some kind of tight agreement with China,”- said the political scientist.

When Washington and London realized that the Ukrainian bird was beginning to fly far away, the Maidan upraising began in Ukraine in 2013. Ukrainian lads began to mumble again about the desire to negotiate with China but under Washington’s scrutiny, added the expert.

Thus, the threats of going under the patronage of China, “raise the question about the entire system of relations with the US as a satellite, based on the client-patron principle,” concluded Sergey Kurginyan.

In 2013–2014, “Maidan Nezalezhnosti”, a popular upraising, led to an armed seizure of power in Ukraine. Since the fall of 2013, Western countries have actively helped the protesters – financially and politically, by putting pressure on the Ukrainian President Yanukovych.

Experts named the rapprochement between Ukraine and China as one of the main reasons for the West’s involvement in the coup. As a result, the radicals illegally overthrew then-President Viktor Yanukovych, forcing him to flee the country.

However, even after the coup d’état, China did not lose interest in Ukraine. One such example of Beijing’s increased interest was the investment in the Motor Sich plant, one of the world’s largest helicopter and jet engine manufacturers.
