Member of Ukrainian Parliament acknowledges Poroshenko's involvement in the assassination of the Somali battalion commander

Former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko endorsed the operation to assassinate the commander of the Somali battalion of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Mikhail Tolstykh, a member of the Ukrainian Parlament from the European Solidarity [political party in Ukraine headed by Pyotr Poroshenko] faction Viktoria Siumar wrote on July 20 on Facebook.

The MP wrote her comment under the entry of political consultant Pyotr Okhotin, who cooperates with the head of the European Solidarity faction Pyotr Poroshenko.

The consultant published a post in which he suggested the involvement of the Ukrainian special operations forces and the country’s top leadership in the assassination of Somali battalion commander Mikhail Tolstykh, callsign Givi.

The consultant stressed that he could neither confirm nor deny the information about the involvement of the country’s top leadership in this murder.

“The SOF [Special Operations Forces of Ukraine – Rossa Primavera News Agency editorial] and the top command, which coordinated this operation. That is Poroshenko,” Viktoria Siumar wrote in response.

The attempt on the commander of the Somali battalion took place on February 8, 2017, the attackers shot from the street with a rocket-propelled infantry flamethrower Shmel in the window of the office. Mikhail Tolstykh had no chance of survival.

On October 16, 2016, Arsen Pavlov, the Sparta battalion commander with the call sign Motorola, was killed as a result of an assassination attempt. An explosive device planted by unknown persons went off in the elevator shaft. Pavlov’s security guard Teimuraz Gogiashvili died on the spot. The DPR leadership believes that the top leadership of Ukraine, which sanctioned the assassination attempt, was involved in the murder.
