Turkey prepares Syrian militants for deployment to Afghanistan

09.07.2021, Damascus.

Ankara is preparing to send a group of 2,000 Syrian terrorists to Afghanistan, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source in Syria informed on July 9.

“Turkey is preparing to send 2,000 terrorists from Firqat al-Sultan Suleyman Shah from Afrin to Afghanistan,” the source said. What task the terrorists will have in Afghanistan is not yet reported.

Ankara has previously used Syrian militants to pursue its interests in Libya and Nagorno Karabakh.

The extreme situation emerged in Afghanistan because of the withdrawal of the US troops. The Taliban (organization banned in Russia) have seized about 60% of the country.

Some 1,500 servicemen fled from Afghanistan to Tajikistan. Dushanbe has requested assistance from the Collective Security Treaty Organization to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border.
