Germany’s military development policy is aimed at preparing for war against Russia, Member of German Bundestag from the Left faction Sevim Dagdelen wrote in an article published in nd.DerTag newspaper on June 22.
“The federal government openly sets to prepare for war against Russia,” the article reads.
According to the German parliamentarian, “NATO’s policy of arms buildup and escalation toward Russia and the German government’s forgetting of history when it comes to the memory of the invasion in the Soviet Union 80 years ago are only two sides of the same coin.”
The author notes that Germany’s military costs exceed by far the relevant item in the Russian budget.
All this, along with the use of propaganda methods on an official level to create and maintain an enemy image, shows that the West is not interested in defusing tensions with Russia. On the contrary, according to Dagdelen, they are preparing for a new armed conflict.
German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer previously stated during a visit to a US military base that Washington and Berlin “fight side by side for democracy, freedom and rule-based order” and that Russia is their adversary in Europe.
