The level of confrontation in the world must be controllable, the political analyst and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on air of the Russia One TV channel in the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on June 17.
“The confrontation (between Russia and the US – Rossa Primavera News Agency editorial note) must be managed. The confrontation should not become unmanageable, and everyone understands this,” Kurginyan stressed.
As an example of the deteriorating situation, he cited Sweden’s statements that it is waiting for war with Russia. This indicates the increasing tension in the Baltic region, the political scientist said.
“When will increasing tensions lead to something triggering a nuclear war, which no one wants? How can we make sure that under conditions of increasing missile velocities and other levels of tensions, we can nevertheless avoid a nuclear conflict?“, Kurginyan asked.
He stressed that this issue is a serious one that was discussed during the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the US President Joe Biden in Geneva on 16 June.
In their statements before the summit, both Putin and Biden stressed that relations between Moscow and Washington are at their lowest level in recent years.
