The escalating confrontation between Russia and the US was the main theme at the Presidential Summit between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, said political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on June 17 on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on Russia One channel.
“It seems to me that the main strategic theme that was discussed there, the hot topic, is that we are escalating the confrontation,” said Kurginyan.
The summit between two presidents was unable to negate this escalating confrontation, noted the political scientist.
Also, Kurginyan commented on Putin’s statement, which he made on June 17 following the meeting with Biden. “What Putin said now is in an absolutely cold, harsh tone; with elements of a certain special sense of humor, certain style of the First Main Directorate of the KGB of the USSR, which I’m somewhat familiar with, and what it may contain,” noted the expert.
Putin’s statement shows that there is no softening in relations between Russia and the US, stressed the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
On June 16, the Presidential Summit between Putin and Biden took place in Geneva. This was their first meeting since Biden’s victory in the US presidential elections in the fall of 2020.
