The attempt to develop Man within the capitalist model resulted in the failure of the Western civilization, philosopher, political scientist, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 5 on the Tema program on the Union channel of Donetsk.
According to Kurginyan, the capitalist model of Man was based on the premise that “Man is sinful, and he should not be changed.” This sinful nature, he believes, was used as the driver of economy back before World War One.
“Competition. Dog eat dog. War of all against all, etc. But then it turned out that capitalism lost even in this. Now we can see that this is an obvious attempt to save a certain type of order through pushing Man downwards,” the philosopher explained.
He specified that this pushing means the rejection of human nature and the release of Man’s animal essence. This is what happened in the late Soviet society in late 1980s and in Russia after the collapse of the USSR. Similar processes are taking place today in the Western society, too.
“If Man continues moving downward this way, it will result in an anthropological failure leaving no chance for the civilization to remain standing,” Kurginyan stressed.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement raised the question what humanity will face after this failure, and what will Man become when he reaches the lowest point.
“Then we must ask who will face whom in the lowest point of this failure, in the final battle? Won’t it be those who dream about making Man better against those who want him to become a beast in his entirety?” Sergey Kurginyan concluded.
