Does Ukraine become a part of a post-Soviet system that does not condemn Nazism?

Ukraine became a part of the global security system which was established after the defeat of the USSR in the Cold War, Rossa Primavera News Agency editorial published on May 11 reads.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, speaking at the Ukraine 30. Country’s Security forum in Kiev, said that the Ukrainian security system is part of the global international system, the main architects of which are the UN and NATO.

Zelenskiy speaks not about that global international system, which was built after the victory over Nazism in 1945. The president of Ukraine speaks about the system that emerged after the collapse of the USSR, which the West considers as a defeat of the USSR in the Cold War.

As a result of the Cold War, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was created on the territory of the former USSR, and in countries such as Ukraine, Nazi Bandera movements were resurrected and supported at the state level.

Politicians in the CIS countries began to accuse Russia of occupation and demand payment for the years of life under the “Soviet tyranny”. And Russia must pay with discounts on energy source materials and other types of “compensation payments.”

The UN was founded after World War II in order to prevent its recurrence. It was then that Nazism and its main figures along with the Nazi organization and military units, including SS units, were condemned at the Nuremberg Trials.

In Ukraine, marches were held on April 28 in Kiev and May 8 in Lviv to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the 1st Galician SS Division. Also, heads of individual regions and cities regularly honor veterans of this Nazi unit consisting of Ukrainian volunteers.

Ukrainian punitive forces from the Galician SS Division conducted brutal punitive operations against civilians in Poland, Belarus and Ukraine itself. However, modern Ukrainian nationalists call them “fighters for independence.
