Ukrainian army redeploys Tochka-U missile systems to Donbass

21.04.2021, Lugansk.

The Ukrainian army redeployed eight Tochka-U tactical missile systems to the contact line in Donbass, correspondent and author of the project WarGonzo Semyon Pegov wrote on his Telegram channel.

WarGonzo project cited the information received from the people living in the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic occupied by the Ukrainian army, who reported about the missile systems near Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye.

“According to our information, the Tochka-U missile systems in the zone of the so-called Joint Forces Operation from Chernigov region with ammunition and supply vehicles,” the statement reads.

It is noted that missile systems of this type have been observed in Donbass before, but this is the first time when so many missile systems are observed.

On April 20, speaking to foreign mass media, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Kuleba stated that there is a probability that tensions “on the border with Russia” will escalate into a military conflict.

The Tochka missile system (Tochka-U) is a mobile missile launch system, designed to be deployed along with other land combat units on the battlefield. It uses an inertial guidance system. The missile itself can be used for precise strikes on enemy tactical targets, such as control posts, bridges, storage facilities, troop concentrations and airfields. The solid propellant makes the missile easy to maintain and deploy.
