It is better for the United States to stay away from Russia and Crimea for their own good, the risks of incidents are very high, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said to reporters on April 13.
Ryabkov said, “The US should understand that the risks of an incident are very high. We have already observed something similar this year in completely different waters. We are warning that it is better for the USA to stay away from Crimea, from our Black Sea coast. It will be for their own good.”
A source at the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Washington notified Ankara about two warships entering the Black Sea through the Bosporus. They will be in the waters of the sea from April 14-15 to May 4-5.
The official representative of the Pentagon John Kirby stated that the US Navy’s operation in the Black Sea is of routine nature; the US coordinates these actions with the Turkish authorities by the terms of the Montreux Convention.
