The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a military operation against the militants of ISIL (organization in Russia) in the Syrian desert, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source in Syria informed on April 12.
“The SAA, together with the Liwa al-Quds units started an operation to comb the Deir ez-Zor desert in search of ISIL (organization banned in Russia) cells,” the source informed.
The operation is expected to last for a week and will be held in the Kabajib and al-Shula areas in the Deir Ez-Zor desert, as well as the desert areas in the south of Raqqa, the source added.
Liwa Al-Quds is an allied force of the Syrian army recruited from the Palestinian militia. It was created in 2013 by engineer Muhammad al-Sa’eed from Aleppo.
