The United States benefits from maintaining instability in Syria in order to loot the resources of the Syrian people, a joint statement by joint coordination headquarters of Russia and Syria published on April 5 on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry reads.
“It is advantageous for the American side to maintain the unstable situation in Syria in order to further justify its illegal presence and continue looting the natural resources belonging to the Syrian people,” the statement reads.
The US intimidates Syrian refugees in other countries, preventing them from returning home. The joint coordination headquarters notes that for this purpose, the USA uses the news agencies under their control to disseminate fake publications about the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic.
In addition, the US sanctions are preventing the implementation of large-scale economic projects in Syria, which could provide Syrians with jobs and increase their income.
The US military contingent with the support of the Syrian Kurds maintains control over the eastern and northeastern Syria. Ninety percent of Syria’s oil reserves and 50% of Syria’s gas are located on this territory.
According to Anadolu Agency, the USA has 11 military bases in Syria. Some international coalition forces, including the French military, are also stationed there.
