Kurginyan: Japan has a chance to obtain nuclear weapons

Japan has a non-zero probability of obtaining nuclear weapons in the future, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on March 28 on the air of the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.

The political scientist noted that nuclear weapons for Japan is an issue that belongs to the future. At the same time, Kurginyan drew a parallel between Japan and Israel.

“They say, ‘But Israel has it!’ Well, try to take it away from Israel. It will say, ‘No, thanks.’ Because this is a security guarantee,” Kurginyan indicated a major factor why this type of weapons is attractive.

According to the political scientist, “a country’s small size and population density are no arguments for the nation’s government not to create something.”

For Japan, an additional motivation is its history of imperial ambitions, which have persisted after the defeat in World War II, despite the US occupation and dependence on the US.

“Unlike Germany (I think Germany remembers this deep inside, as well), Japan remembers well the period of its imperial greatness, and it dreams about it again… There is much contemplation on this regard in Japan,” Kurginyan noted.

Tokyo, which is in the US orbit, does not need to upset its relations with Washington, “the US can allow it do so,” and this is why it is possible that Japan can obtain nuclear weapons.

As the Rossa Primavera News Agency reported, a joint group for the development of a new generation fighter for the Self-Defense Air Force was established in Japan on March 15. By 2035, the Japanese military plans to deploy fighter drones.

Also, Japan is developing a missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers, which would be able to hit targets in the DPRK and China.
