Kurginyan: The Bolshevik Party led the country to victory in the war

29.03.2021, Aleksandrovskoye.

«My grandfather was shot in 1938, but that does not mean that I should spend the rest of my life building up hatred for the Bolsheviks.»

The October Revolution brought a new elite to power that was able to prepare Russia to endure and prevail in the Great Patriotic War, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on the air of the Donetsk TK Union channel.

Answering the question of the host whether rejecting previous periods affects Russia’s development, the political scientist said that the Russian history cannot be partitioned.

“I have always been impressed by people’s inability to look objectively, to put aside private circumstances: familial or otherwise. My grandfather was shot in 1938, but that does not mean that I should spend the rest of my life building up hatred for the Bolsheviks,” explained Kurginyan

At the same time, the descendants of those who worked in the NKVD and shot people “hate the Bolsheviks as if they have nothing else to do.”

Kurginyan illustrated the continuity of the Russian history by the example of the life of Alexey Alekseevich Manikovsky, who was the head of the Main Artillery Directorate (GAU) of the Russian Imperial Army.

The expert said that back during the First World War the GAU prepared plans for transforming the country, which were necessary for survival. But the GAU and Manikovsky could not implement these plans in the era of the Russian Empire, because everything was blocked.

Only after the revolution it became possible to realize Manikovsky’s plan and prepare the country to confront the West in isolation and to win World War II.

«In a mysterious way, the Bolsheviks’ rise to power permitted to Stalin to implement all the plans of the Main Artillery Directorate that had been written and could be realized earlier. But it took a disastrous cataclysm and a complete change of the elite to make it possible,” concluded leader of the Essence of Time movement.

Manikovsky Alexey Alekseevich (1865-1920) was the head of the Main Artillery Directorate in 1915-1917. He succeeded to completely get the Russian army rid of the “shell hunger” of the initial period of the First World War.

Under him, military production expanded and new factories were built. Manikovsky sharply clashed with private producers because of inflated prices and poor product quality. The industrialists insisted on his resignation and almost achieved this.

Manikovsky proposed to create “military production cells” under the control of the GAU at all private factories. According to his plans, powerful state-owned enterprises must play the lead role in the industry in wartime and engage as a price regulator and the vanguard of technological progress in peacetime.

After the revolution, Manikovsky was arrested twice, including for disagreeing with the principle of the election of commanders. At the same time, in 1918-1919 he was the head of the Artillery Department, created the Red Army artillery and organized the army’s ammunition supply system.

Manikovsky died in a train crash in 1920. The general wrote a book “Combat supply of the Russian army in the World War”, which was published after his death.
