Kurginyan: Donbass proves that Russia shall return to its path of development

29.03.2021, Aleksandrovskoye.

Russia will return to its traditional, Russian and Soviet, the path of development regardless of anything, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on the Donetsk Union TV channel.

In 1991, Russia turned away from its main path in order to “try” other possibilities. But the “prodigal son” and the pro-Russian part of the world will return to the path of development they had once left.

The return of the prodigal son will happen. I don’t know which ’calf’ will be slaughtered for this purpose, but I am convinced that it will happen. Incidentally, what happened in Donbass also confirms it,” said the leader of the Essence of Time.

There were people with very different life stories, including not very pretty ones. But they all came and said, ‘My grandfather fought fascism, now we will do it here’!” – explained the analyst.

According to Kurginyan, the Soviet and Russian egregore, that operates both in the Donbass and in the world, is steadily restoring reality and the meanings lost during perestroika.

This feeling of imaginativeness, not being limited by purely pragmatic material things, the ability to risk everything and move somewhere – this is what still remains,” Kurginyan noted.

After the USSR’s collapse in 1991, all of the former Soviet republics gained political independence from Russia. Local elites consolidated power by promoting nationalism in their republics and indulging Russophobia.

One of the results of this policy was the civil war in Ukraine, which took place after an armed coup in Kiev in 2013-2014. The anti-Russian politicians who came to power began to actively discriminate the ethnic Russian and pro-Russian population.

In southern and eastern Ukraine some regions held a referendum on independence from Ukraine itself, which triggered Kiev’s military aggression against Donbass.
