Ukrainian military opens fire on the LPR territory five times

The Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire on the front line in the Lugansk People’s Republic five times over the day, the LPR representative to the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) said on March 18.

The representative said that on March 17, the Ukrainian military opened fire on Donetskiy, Kalinovka, Lozovoye, and Nizhneye Lozovoye villages.

During the shelling, the Ukrainian armed forces used 120mm and 82mm mortars, various grenade launchers, and small arms, and a total of 14 rounds of ammunition with a calibre larger than 12.7 mm were fired.

The representative said that information on killed and injured persons and destructions is being clarified.

The Ukrainian military did not provoke the LPR People’s Militia servicemen on March 15 and 16. The observers reported the violation of the ceasefire on March 14, when fire was opened on Molodezhnoye village using grenade launchers.

On March 16, the Ukrainian military shelled DPR territory 21 times, and nine villages and towns came under fire.

On March 17, the final meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group was held, at which the Ukrainian delegation disrupted a meeting of a subgroup on political issues. It was also not possible to agree on any of the other issues in the discussion.
