The US is threatening Europe with “the Russian bear,” political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on March 10 on the Topic program on the Donetsk Union channel.
The political scientist reminded that USA’s relations with Europe deteriorated to some extent under former US president Donald Trump.
“Trump hates Europe as all the Republicans do, but also personally. The US Republicans believe that the Antichrist will come from Europe. They have a variety of religious ideas on this account. ‘The president of Europe will be the center of all evil.’ Migrants who hated Europe and left it created the United States,” the political scientist explained.
According to the expert, the US fears any merger of European industry with Russian resources, which could challenge their industrial power. “An advisor to George H. W. Bush and his Secretary of State James Baker told me in 1990 that if this [merging of Russia and Europe] took place and the Russians united with Germany, a nuclear war in Europe would result,” Kurginyan said.
Conversely, the US Democratic party establishment aims to exert control over Europe by using a combination of outward benevolence and fearmongering. While signaling that Trump’s abrasive language and posturing are in the past, the new US leadership aims increase Europe’s dependence on US security guarantees. A key part of this is provoking Russia to interfere militarily in the Ukrainian civil war. Such a move, Washington believes, would increase the EU’s anxiety over its own security and make it less willing to pursue an independent foreign policy.
