People who are cold-bloodedly expecting a global catastrophe are behind the irrational and sometimes insane actions of Western politicians, political scientist, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on March 10 on the Topic program on the Donetsk Union channel.
“Everything smells of a worldwide insanity, and some major scoundrels are behind it. They have stepped back and are waiting for a disaster. They don’t participate in relevant politics. They have placed the relevant politics in Europe and America in the hands of very peculiar people. They stand and wait behind their backs for something to really collapse, so that a whole new world can be arranged. At any point, at any moment,” Essence of Time’s leader noted.
“In what mood will Zelensky get out of bed? To what degree will the conflicts in the Ukrainian oligarchy reach? Will the wind blow? Or will it not blow? Will Biden remember something? Will he decide that he is in 1960s or will he remember that he is in 2021?” Kurginyan explained that the situation is so escalated that even insignificant events can turn the international agenda upside down.
The expert noted that in order to predict irrational steps, “it is necessary to count the outbreaks of insanity” by analyzing the most formal occasions for them.
According to Kurginyan, the US hopes to stage provocations near Russia’s borders and use Moscow’s retaliatory actions to scare Europe and force it into greater obedience. For Ukraine to attack Russia is to reveal “suicidal insanity,” but that does not mean that the probability of an attack is zero.
“Why did Hitler invade the Soviet Union? Stalin was a rational man, he said: what would he do here? But he did have something to do here. He exterminated Jews here, believing that communists and Jews were one and the same thing. He wanted to excavate the Mamayev Kurgan [dominant height overlooking the city of Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad) in Southern Russia – translator’s note] and do some other things. Yes, [Hitler was] an irrational man. But at least he was a ferocious major scoundrel, while in our times they are simply insane,” concludes Kurginyan.
Kurginyan added that Donbass is in any case “the main point in the global process” just like Spain in the 1930s.
