Kurginyan: Ukraine’s rejection of Minsk agreements will bring Donbass to Russia

04.02.2021, Donetsk.

Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Minsk agreements would open to the Donbass republics the way to Russia, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 29 on the Politkukhnya TV program on the Union channel of Donetsk.

According to the political scientist, a Ukrainian army offensive against the DPR and the LPR would mean Ukraine’s refusal to fulfill the Minsk agreements, which demand that the Ukrainian authorities must perform profound state reforms and establish confederative relations with Donbass.

“Ukraine will withdraw from the Minsk agreements through escalation at your border. By this withdrawal, it will mark only one thing: that your only way is to Russia. No more talks will take place after that,” Kurginyan stressed.

Further, Ukraine would have to admit its withdrawal “from any international documents whatsoever.” This admittance would become a pivot point in the great game taking place around the world, in which the Donbass republics are involved.

“I would like to say that the people in the trenches are right when they say that they do not care for the great game, but they want peace and security. And I support this position wholeheartedly. But I would like those in the trenches to understand us, too. We think every day about the people who are suffering there. All we want is to bring this situation to complete a Russian victory,” Kurginyan stressed.
