The confrontation between the USA and Russia will escalate, but an active international offensive will only begin after domestic disagreements in the USA are resolved, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 28 on The Topic TV program on the Donetsk Union channel.
“The kind of offensive moves the Biden administration will dare to make will mostly depend on how soon this administration resolves its domestic problems,” Kurginyan noted.
The political scientist explained that the time when the international offensive will start depends on how quickly the administration of the new president “deals with Trump” and how quickly Biden himself, Vice President Kamala Harris, and other politicians can move to a coordinated policy.
“This means it depends on what happens to the socialists and moderate democrats close to republicans, and how quickly they can consolidate, and how quickly this consolidation transforms into an offensive foreign policy,” Kurginyan explained.
According to the political scientist, it is not yet clear when this process will end. This can take a year or a couple of months. It is possible that the US foreign offensive has already started, and the protests that unfolded in Russia on January 23 are the the new democrat president’s first probing strike.
“It is not yet clear to me what this story around the radical pro-Navalny rally is. Is this the first shot, a warm-up for the new democratic administration? Or is the democratic administration giving a measured applause to these events while some other forces are taking the lead? Is this Britain or some domestic forces associated with the West?” Kurginyan assumed.
On January 23, unauthorized street protests took place in various cities across Russia, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, in support of Aleksey Navalny, who was detained in the Sheremetyevo Airport after he arrived from Germany. In some cities, attacks against law enforcement officials took place during the protests.
