Russia cannot continue rejecting ideology and strategy after the Biden administration has come to power, and this has already become clear, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 24 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov on the Russia One channel.
According to the conflict studies expert, the Russian establishment avoids any ideology since perestroika and the collapse of the USSR, when it was perceived as a “stupid feature of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union” aimed at building an alternative world order.
“This decades-long illness, which is entrenched in the Russian elite, combines with the pragmatic language, ‘We will not speak the language of ideology, we will maneuver where we need every time’,” Kurginyan described the situation.
According to Kurginyan, with the Biden administration the information war will be exacerbated to a level when this kind of policy will become impossible.
“I think that with Biden, however ironically he might be perceived, this style cannot work any more. Absolutely practical political activity will follow all these demarches, whether stupid or not. These practices will demonize Russia,” Kurginyan explained.
According to the political scientist, Biden definitely plans to pursue a different foreign policy than his predecessor, and Russia naturally becomes the number one enemy of the US for his administration.
“They need someone to ally against. If not against Europe as Trump did, not against China as Trump did, not against radical Islam as Trump did at Israel’s behest, then against whom? Just look around and you will see only one target to ally against, and this will be a serious alliance,” Kurginyan explained the political landscape.
However, although the new US president is very much immersed in the domestic political struggle, the strategic situation is clearly visible. “All that we see inside the US is only weak reverberations,” Kurginyan concluded.
