Kurginyan: The West will provide media support to Navalny – How will Russia respond?

27.01.2021, Moscow.

The West will predictably provide media support to the Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, but the question is what ideology Russia will counter this with, Sergey Kurginyan, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time social movement, said in an interview to Vladimir Solovyov on the SolovyovLive YouTube channel on January 23.

“It’s absolutely clear that the West will provide media support to Navalny. If there is one boy, and the mark of a police baton remains on his butt, then all the chancellors, prime ministers and others will, pardon my figurative expression, kiss this butt. This butt will be demonstrated at the UN and at all other prestigious forums, and each of them understands this,” the political scientist stressed.

Navalny and his supporters know that a master is on their side – a master to whom they have sworn an oath. The question is how Russia will respond to this challenge.

“What is standing on the other side? What is the ideology of the other side? Whatisgoingonthere?” Kurginyan posed a question.

On January 23, mass unauthorized protests in support of arrested opposition activist Alexei Navalny, took place in Russia, during which there were attacks on police officers. In Moscow, protesters gouged out the eye of a driver behind the wheel of an FSB car.

On January 17, Navalny returned to Russia from Germany and was detained by law enforcement agencies at the Sheremetyevo airport. Later, the court sentenced the opposition activist to 30 days in jail for repeated violations of his sentence in the Yves Rocher case.
