Ceasefire violated in Syria 19 times over the day

Russia reported 19 violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria over the day, as an information bulletin of the Russian Ministry of Defense informed on January 15.

The bulletin reads that the ceasefire was violated 21 times in the Aleppo (1 violation), Idlib (7 violations), Latakia (8 violations) and Hama (3 violations) provinces.

The Turkish side reported seven ceasefire violations over the past 24 hours. No violations were confirmed by the Russian side.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic carried out three humanitarian actions in Quayres al-Sharqi in Aleppo province where 250 food packages were distirbuted, in Damlahiya Kebira in Hasaka province – 440 food packages were distributed, and Mazlum in Deir ez-Zor province where 250 food packages were distributed.

The ceasefire on the territory of Idlib de-escalation zone has been in force since March 6, 2020. The agreement is guaranteed by Russia and Turkey, which set up a joint Russian-Turkish commission for ceasefire monitoring in Syria.
