US President Donald Trump is holding on to power because he is furious about what is happening with the presidential election process, said the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan on December 20 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on Russia One channel.
“We can and should regard Trump’s holding on to power with irony. But he has his reasons. He is enraged at what is happening. He really thinks that the presidential election was stolen from him,” said Kurginyan.
Trump has “an insane amount of evidence” that the election was rigged, stressed the political scientist. “He is twice as furious because no one is paying attention to this evidence,” added Kurginyan.
According to the political scientist, Trump is genuinely outraged by the persistence with which the US ignores the established legal norms and laws related to the election process.
“Trump is literally screaming, and you can see that it’s genuine: ‘What are we – Africa, or what?! What is this?! Where are the legal norms, where are the laws?’ Meanwhile, half of the US is screaming along with him. This means that this half of the US will not vanish,” concluded Kurginyan.
The political scientist also noted that the US Democratic Party traditionally pays more attention to foreign policy, which is little of interest to the US population. For this reason, the domestic political situation in the US for the next four years will be far from stable.
On December 20, US President Donald Trump and his advisors discussed the appointing Sidney Powell as special counsel, who will investigate alleged fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
According to the official data, Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in the 2020 US presidential election with 306 electoral votes to 232.
