Russian Aerospace Forces strike militants in Syria

The Russian Aerospace Forces struck against the ISIL [organization banned in Russia] militants’ positions in the Syrian desert on December 20, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source in Syria informed.

“The Russian Aerospace Forces struck several times against the ISIL [organization banned in Russia] positions near Jabl al-Bishri in eastern Raqqa,” the source informed. No information about casualties among the militants.

According to the agency’s interlocutor, on the same day, Russian aviation struck the terrorists’ positions in the area of al-Kaban in northern Latakia.

The Russian military operation in Syria began in late 2015. At the start of the operation, the Syrian army controlled 8% of the country’s territory. At the end of 2020, the government forces hold about 65% of the Syrian territory.
