About one thousand of Syrian militants return from Nagorno-Karabakh to Syria

About 900 of Syrian mercenaries were refused residence permit in Nagorno-Karabakh, The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights reported on December 2.

According to SOHR, the Syrian militants wanted to stay in the Azerbaijan-controlled territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. However, they were reportedly refused residence permit and had to return to Syria.

A few more groups are preparing to return to Syria.

SOHR reports that many militants previously received the promised reward of 10 thousand Turkish liras.

According to the human rights organization, a total of 2,580 of Syrian militants participated in the Nagorno-Karabakh war, of which about 300 were killed. Reportedly, 342 militants refused to participate in the hostilities and returned to their homes.

A number of high-ranking officials in Russia, France, and Syria previously said that they had reliable information about Syrian and Libyan militants from Turkey-controlled groups participating in the war at the Azerbaijani side.
