Top Iranian nuclear scientist assassinated in Tehran

One of the masterminds of Iran’s nuclear program Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was shot dead in the streets of Tehran, Middle East Eye, citing local media, reports on November 27.

In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid particular attention to Fakhrizadeh’s role in the Iran nuclear program. According to Israeli media, the scientist escaped an assassination attempt a few years ago.

More than 10 years ago, on 29 November 2010, Iranian nuclear scientist Majid Shahriari was killed in a car explosion. His colleague Fereydoon Abbasi was severely injured, but survived. The Iranian authorities then blamed the US and Israeli secret services.
