Kurginyan: The West may use Turkey to provoke major military conflicts

Turkey may be used by the West to provoke major military conflicts in the future, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on November 11 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.

NATO will not dare to fight Russia or China directly in the near future, stressed Sergey Kurginyan. So the question arises: could Turkey with its expansionist aspirations be used for this? These aspirations are backed up by real action and its membership in NATO, added the political scientist.

Kurginyan explained that Turkey meets three requirements necessary to play this role: NATO membership, the Great Turan concept, and its real actions. According to him, the Great Turan is not a joke but pretention to create a global empire, which would include a considerable part of the Russian Federation.

Turkey’s concrete actions in the Middle East and in Transcaucasia lead to, at least now, some sort of euphoria in Turkish society, said Kurginyan. “Maybe it is being artificially stimulated, but it is a fact,” added the expert.

“That is just one example on how a military clash can emerge. It can also emerge in Ukraine any time. In fact, we see that the situation is sharply worsening,” concluded Kurginyan.

Turkey is actively taking part in major military conflicts in the Middle East — Syria and Libya — as well as in Transcaucasia. Ankara uses radical islamists and nationalists as its support base.

The Great Turan is a project to build a new empire, which would unite all the Turkic peoples under the guidance of Ankara.
