Russian Ministry of Defense confirms the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh

IL-76 planes will deploy the Russian peacekeeping contingent to the Karabakh conflict zone, the Russian Ministry of Defense informed on November 10.

The statement reads that according to the adopted agreements on conclusion of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a Russian peacekeeping contingent will be sent to Karabakh to carry out the peacekeeping mission. The deployment began from a military unit in Ulyanovsk. Military transport aircraft will be used for the deployment.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Armenia made a statement according to which he accepted the conditions of peace with Azerbaijan, implying the surrender of significant territory of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Baku stated that it was satisfied with the terms of the truce.
