Kurginyan explains what ideology will prevent the clash of civilizations

An ideology bringing back sanctity and sacramentality must become a response to the emerging “clash of civilizations”, political scientist, leader of the Essence of Time social-political movement Sergey Kurginyan stated on November 2 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on Russia One channel.

The expert noted that Turkey is becoming a serious geopolitical threat not only for Russia and China, but also for the whole world.

“Such a challenge implies a certain response. And what kind of response is it? Is it Macron’s bleating? As they say in such cases, it is ‘the silence of the lambs’,” the political scientist said.

Recalling the isolated Islamic quarters of Paris, the expert stressed the absurdity of the French President’s arguments, declaring national unity, the unity of French citizens.

According to Kurginyan, the most important issue is the question of ideology, and ideology does not and cannot exist if there are no sacramental symbols. “If the French flag is sacred, then for disrespect to the flag one has to not impose a fine of 743 euros, but to guillotine, and then it will be sacred,” the political scientist explained.

He poses a question whether in the 21st century sanctity and sacramentality, human essence and entity will be brought back. “Ideology is the means to return it. Or we will slowly chew the ideological hay, observing how something what Huntington called the ‘clash of civilizations’ is emerging before our eyes?” the political scientist concluded.

Samuel Huntington’s book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order was published in 1996. The American sociologist argued that future conflicts will take place not between countries, but between cultures. Islamic extremism would become the major threat to the world.
