The ideology of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is based on two principles, political scientist, former head of the Israeli special service Nativ Yakov Kedmi stated on October 28 on the air of the “Vesti FM” radio.

“Erdoğan declared his ideology long ago, even before he came to power. It is based on several principles. First: Ottoman Empire is a state political entity that must have power and influence over all Turkic peoples. The Turkic peoples are Turkic-speaking peoples, and their space extends from the Xi River and Yakutia to Libya. The second principle is Turkish Islam,” Kedmi said.

Earlier Kedmi stated that the problems of Nagorno-Karabakh and Caucasus in general can be solved only in Moscow. According to him, Russia has always been an “element of calmness” in the Caucasus and the countries of the Caucasus can’t exist independently either physically, politically or economically as separate national states “without somebody not putting order there.”
